Destino

Recently I was asked to contribute to judging the Arties Awards for the illustration category at John Brown University for the West Gallery Student Works Exhibit running from February 19 - March 14 along with a very special exhibit featuring original production work from the short film Destino the collaborative animated short film effort of Walt Disney Company and Surrealist artist Salvador Dali.  This film began in 1945 and was eventually completed and released in 2003 and thanks to assistant professor of visual arts Joel Armstrong for having me down to participate.

Scout Ship Sculpt

I'm going to be very process focused with this new blog and website so I'll not only be showing works but works in progress.  This is a clay sculpt or maquette of my scout ship design for the upcoming independent sci-fi film Command Magellan.  Maquette is a French word for preliminary scale model.  Both traditional and CG models have been generated for this project.  Small models such as this are used to visualize and test forms without incurring the cost and effort of producing a full scale product.  I’ll be  showing much of the behind the scenes production work of this and other projects I’m working on in upcoming posts.
