Mars Rover Perseverance.

This is a small watercolor painting I did of NASA’s Mars rover Perseverance. This rover will touch down on the red planet on February 18 and will seek signs of ancient life and collect samples of rock and regolith (broken rock and soil) for a possible return to Earth.

Venice

This is a small pen and ink drawing from my sketchbook (complete with coffee stains) I drew while exploring Venice, Italy. The city rests on 118 islands separated by 150 canals and 417 bridges and it is easy to get lost amongst the winding, labyrinthine streets and meandering canals. Venice was an independent republic for over 1,100 years until it became part of the Kingdom of Italy in 1866.

Owl Drawing

This is a little drawing I did of an owl for our three-year-old daughter Sadie. We read about animals a lot and learned that these incredible birds have tube-shaped eyes that allow them to have binocular-like vision for focusing on prey. They can rotate their necks an impressive 270 degrees. A group of owls is called a parliament which is derived from the C.S. Lewis book the “Chronicles of Narnia”.
