FIGURE DRAWING AUG-SEP

If you’d like to learn how to draw the human figure with confidence and authority join us for Figure Drawing classes at the Community Creative Center at Walton Art Center’s Nadine Baum Studios. This class is for both beginners and seasoned professionals. I’ve been teaching the class for nearly 20 years and look forward to sharing tips and techniques so you can successfully render the figure for comics, illustration, concept art, gallery work or whatever you’d like!

JPL AUTHOR TALK • EXHIBITION

Join us for an author event at Joplin Public Library. I'll be discussing not only my book but also the process of creating a graphic nonfiction and how I became interested in telling stories visually. If you're interested in visual narrative and the very strange history of the Crescent Hotel then I hope to see you at the author event on Tuesday!

Also an art exhibit featuring my original artwork for the publication will accompany this presentation, and is now on display in the Local History gallery. The art exhibit will be on display through August 31.

JOPLIN PUBLIC LIBRARY AUTHOR VISIT AND EXHIBIT

Join Post Art Library and Joplin Public Library as we welcome visiting author Sean Fitzgibbon to Joplin Public Library.

What Follows is True: Crescent Hotel is author Sean Fitzgibbon’s nonfiction graphic novel that depicts the mythologies surrounding the Crescent Hotel’s strange two years as the Baker Hospital, a Depression Era cancer hospital in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

This is a free public event with no registration required. This program is in partnership with Post Art Library, Joplin Public Library, and Sean Fitzgibbon.

6:00-7:00: Presentation and Q&A, JPL Community Room

7:00-7:30: Book signing, with books available for purchase, JPL Local History Room
