I'm going to be very process focused with this new blog and website so I'll not only be showing works but works in progress. This is a clay sculpt or maquette of my scout ship design for the upcoming independent sci-fi film Command Magellan. Maquette is a French word for preliminary scale model. Both traditional and CG models have been generated for this project. Small models such as this are used to visualize and test forms without incurring the cost and effort of producing a full scale product. I’ll be showing much of the behind the scenes production work of this and other projects I’m working on in upcoming posts.
Character Design Roughs
Here are a few rough and early character sketches for a recent job I've been working on for a client. I can't say much about this now. It's still in early stages. This little dude's costume is based on 1920's style aviators. I personally like the DJ action on the bottom left. I'll post more later.
Welcome
Welcome to the new SEANFITZGIBBONART.COM. This all-in-one site is updated weekly with works in-progress, upcoming books, exhibits, commissioned projects, concept art, community-based projects as well as workshops and classes I'm teaching and much more. Be sure to visit the new STORE for original works, prints and books. If you don't see a particular piece in the store, contact me. It may still be available, or perhaps even hanging on my wall.
To access earlier blogs, simply visit seanfitzgibbon.blogspot.com. I've posted new content to my blog every week since 2009 (its old enough to start preschool, awww), and I'm just getting started.
Take off your shoes... oh, on second thought, put them back on... but please stay awhile to explore the new website.
