NOVEMBER 2026 EVENTS!

PITTSBURG STATE UNIVERSITY EXHIBITION

A big thank-you to everyone who came out for the exhibition reception featuring original artwork from my book What Follows Is True: Crescent Hotel and the panel discussion with artist Katherine Hair Eagle, whose work is also on display at PSU.

Katherine’s series Gust Front explores ecological grief, our connection to the non-human world, and how storytelling can help us navigate environmental change and imagine new futures through printmaking, installation, painting, and zines.

A special thanks to Pittsburg State University Professor and Department Chair of Art James Oliver, Administrative Associate Marina Araújo, and my good friend Jason Reid, Professor of UX/UI and Web Design, and his wife, Meredith, for coming out and showing their support!

The exhibition runs through December 16, 2026, so if you’re in the area, stop by and check it out!

Location: University Gallery, Porter Hall Pittsburg State University
Admission: Free and open to the public

Come explore the history, artwork, and stories behind What Follows Is True: Crescent Hotel!

THANKS TO EVERYONE THAT MADE IT OUT TO AR Paranormal Expo

A huge thank-you to everyone who stopped by the Arkansas Paranormal Expo to chat with my friend and co-creator, Dr. Paige Ford, and me about our upcoming graphic nonfiction book, What Follows Is True: Plum Bayou Mounds! We had a fantastic two days meeting people, sharing our excitement about the project, and giving visitors a first look at some of the artwork from the book.

It’s been a lot of work bringing this story to life, and it’s exciting to finally share some of it with all of you! The book is officially in production, and Paige and I can’t wait to share more as things come together. Thanks for following along on this journey. There’s lots more to come! Check out Paige’s report from the Paranormal Expo HERE!!

LISTEN TO MY INTERVIEW ON I AM NORTHWEST ARKANSAS

I recently sat down with host Randy Wilburn for an episode of the I Am Northwest Arkansas podcast as part of its Building What Comes Next series, supported by the Walton Family Foundation.

We talked about my journey as an artist, author, and educator in Northwest Arkansas, the decade-long process of creating What Follows Is True: Crescent Hotel, and how the strange, true stories hidden in our region can help us better understand the present. I also shared the story behind my Kickstarter campaign, which raised nearly $30,000, and offered a preview of my next book about the ancient Plum Bayou Mounds, created in collaboration with the Arkansas Archeological Survey and expected in 2027.

We also discussed why the arts matter to a growing community, the importance of preserving our local history and archaeological sites, and how stories rooted in one place can speak to much bigger ideas.

It was a great conversation, and I'm grateful to Randy for the opportunity to share my work and reflect on what makes Northwest Arkansas such a fascinating place to live and create.
