This is one of my small paintings that I printed as a negative and then drew, painted and collaged back into. This is the Porch of the Maidens located at The Erechtheion, an ancient Greek temple on the north side of the Acropolis of Athens, Greece. These ancient sculptures stand like sentinels on a marble parapet atop the Acropolis. They gaze at the great temple of Athena (the Parthenon) that, even in its present ruin, is one of the marvels of the world. These stately women, balancing the heavy stone roof on their heads is a remarkable display of female strength and power.
Amelia Earhart
Here’s a little watercolor I did for a recent job of famed aviator Amelia Earhart. She was the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean in 1928 as well as the first person to fly over both the Atlantic and Pacific. She mysteriously disappeared in 1937 while trying to circumnavigate the globe from the equator.
