It was a pleasure presenting on my upcoming graphic nonfiction at Thaden School on Wednesday and meeting everyone in the fascinating "Urban Legends of NWA" class. GROUP EXHIBITION
A couple of original pages from my "WFIT: Crescent Hotel" graphic nonfiction will be featured at 131 Inclusion Gallery at 414 Holcomb St. in Springdale in a group exhibition, “Return of the Featured” along with 20 regional artists. The opening reception will be Thursday, May 19, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm and is open to the public. The exhibition runs through the end of July.
Featured artists include Stephanie Lewis, Sean Fitzgibbon, Tabitha Darrah, and Erin Gardner, Mathew Castellano, C.F. Roberts, Shelby Flemming, David Gomez, Angela Teeter, Rachel Ann, Margaret Correll, Angie Gomez, Eris, Helen Williams, Jan Gosnell, and Carmen Carcamo, among others. Artworks and other items will be available for purchase.
WHAT FOLLOWS IS TRUE: CRESCENT HOTEL / DETAIL
This eerie watercolor / pen & ink carousel image of mine is a detail from my upcoming nonfiction graphic novel. This image reflects Baker’s past and many of the strange themes explored in this book. Carousels fascinate me and are the oldest amusement rides still in use.
