CURRENT PROJECTS
This year has been a balancing act between three major projects, each one pushing my work into new spaces and conversations.
I’ve been on the road quite a bit, presenting and selling What Follows Is True: Crescent Hotel at conventions, universities, schools, and libraries. Alongside that, I’ve had the chance to exhibit original pages from the book in galleries and museums, which has been incredibly rewarding, seeing the work move from page to wall adds a whole new dimension to the storytelling.
I’m also developing a forthcoming graphic nonfiction project, What Follows Is True: Plum Bayou Mounds. This book is being created in collaboration with Dr. Paige Ford and the Arkansas Archeological Survey, along with an advisory committee of educators, community members, and subject-matter experts. Designed as an educational resource, it explores the folklore, history, science, and archaeological significance of the ancient Plum Bayou Mounds in Scott, Arkansas.
At the same time, I’m deep into working on a re-release of my 2005 dark anthology graphic novel, DomestiCATed: Paths Once Crossed. This collection features three noir-infused horror stories, all connected by a roving black cat that guides readers through the more unsettling corners of domestic human life. The new edition will be presented in full color and will include a brand-new foreword, behind-the-scenes artwork, and additional extras. It’s well underway, and I’ll be sharing updates as it gets closer to release.

PUBLIC ARCHEOLOGY TRAINING PROGRAM AT PLUM BAYOU MOUNDS
My upcoming graphic nonfiction book, created in collaboration with archaeologist Dr. Paige Ford, explores the archaeology and history of the Plum Bayou Mounds in Scott, Arkansas, formerly known as Toltec Mounds. It’s a fascinating site with a deep cultural and scientific story, and working on this project has opened up some exciting opportunities to connect the public with that history.
One of those opportunities is the upcoming Training Program in Archeology at Plum Bayou Mounds Archaeological State Park. This hands-on program invites participants to take part in real archaeological fieldwork, including survey, mapping, excavation, photography, and lab work. All activities are conducted under the guidance of professional archaeologists and experienced avocational archaeologists.
The program is open to anyone with an interest in archaeology who is committed to ethical practices and holds a current Arkansas Archeological Society membership. Each participant attends a one-day orientation, selects their preferred dates (anywhere from 2 to 14 days), and can choose between off-site accommodations or camping, as well as seminars that match their interests.
Participants must be at least 8 years old, and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

FIGURE DRAWING AT COMMUNITY CREATIVE CENTER
Join us for Figure Drawing, a six-week studio course at the Community Creative Center!
Led by master draughtsman Sean Fitzgibbon, this course will help you sharpen your eye and hand through essential figure drawing techniques, including expressive line, form, and anatomy. Each session features a live, undraped male or female model.
Come learn to loosen up and see the human figure in an entirely new way!
