WHAT FOLLOWS IS TRUE… Underground Eureka Springs

While researching my WFIT: Crescent Hotel book, I discovered another baffling feature of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, one I allude to in the book. In the 1890s, the town’s streets were raised, burying the original ground floors of local businesses beneath the new roads. Today, a hidden city lies beneath the historic streets: abandoned tunnels, forgotten rooms, and passages carved into limestone. Some served early infrastructure, others connected businesses.
