What Follows is True… Here’s a little watercolor I did depicting one of Missouri’s strangest phenomenon. Having grown up in this region, I was always fascinated by the Hornet Spook Light (or Missouri Spook Light), a mysterious glow reported for generations along a lonely stretch of road near Hornet, Missouri. The light appears as a distant orb, sometimes white, orange, or red, hovering in the darkness before disappearing. First documented in the 19th century, its true cause remains debated, leaving behind a mystery that still draws curious visitors.
