Sean is a freelance creative who specializes in various forms of visual development. He has had his work exhibited throughout the United States and was a 2023 recipient of the Arkansas Arts Council Individual Artist Fellowship Award. Throughout the show, Sean shares the eerie history of Eureka Springs’ Crescent Hotel as well as how he turned a longtime interest into a passion project, his experience promoting his work on Kickstarter, and best practices for entrepreneurs looking to do the same.

Join us at Literati Press in Oklahoma City. Sean Fitzgibbon will be signing books and discussing his new graphic nonfiction What Follows Is True: Crescent Hotel. In What Follows Is True: Crescent Hotel, Fitzgibbon tells the story of the Crescent Hotel, starting with the first visit with his family to the hotel when he was a child. He depicts the mythologies surrounding the Crescent Hotel’s strange years as the Baker Hospital, a Depression Era cancer hospital in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. This story is told using classic illustration skills blended with fine art compositions that produce atmospheric imagery, transporting readers into the hotel’s dark and bizarre past.
