TRUE LIT: SELF-PUBLISHING PANEL DISCUSSION

True Lit is back for its 10th year to showcase author events! Join us at Fayetteville Public Library, October 15 from 2-3 PM for a panel discussion on self-publishing with several local self-published authors. 

Meet the panelists: 

Talya Tate Boerner - Moderator is an award-winning author of three books (The Accidental Salvation of Gracie Lee, Gene Everywhere and Bernice Runs Away), the founder of One Mississippi Press LLC.

Ashley Clontz  is a mom of two, corporate writer and children's book author of "Giraffe, What Do You Like to Eat?".

Sean Fitzgibbon is a 2021 Artists 360 recipient and a 2023 recipient of the Arkansas Arts Council Individual Artist Fellowship Award for his graphic nonfiction “What Follows Is True: Crescent Hotel.

Cindy Quayle  is the author of the cozy mystery book, "Death on Cozumel Island". Cindy is currently working on the second book for the Claire O' Keefe mysteries.

The True Lit festival is devoted to the tremendous literary traditions Northwest Arkansas has fostered over the years. True Lit is in collaboration with the Fayetteville Public Schools, Fayetteville Public Education Foundation, Walton Arts Center, University of Arkansas Program in Creative Writing and Translation and Altrusa International of Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Bookish: An Indie Shop for Folks Who Read is thrilled to welcome Sean Fitzgibbon for an in person event to celebrate his graphic non-fiction work, What Follows is True: Crescent Hotel, on Saturday, October 14, 12:30 PM in Fort Smith. The author will be discussing and signing copies of his new book. Pick up your copy on Saturday, October 14 at Bookish!

Artist Sean Fitzgibbon explores unusual, real places and events through his work. His documentary-style graphic nonfiction, What Follows is True, explores the Crescent Hotel’s strange two years as the Baker Hospital, one of the darkest and most controversial legends in the town of Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

2023 ARKANSAS GEMS POSTER

So pleased to announce that my book "What Follows Is True: Crescent Hotel" made the Arkansas Gems list for 2023--the poster of which was revealed last weekend at the National Book Festival in Washington DC! Special thanks to the AR State Library, The AR Department of Education and The Institute of Museum & Library Services. Arkansas Gems is an annual publication of the Arkansas Center for the Book.
