How to Defeat a Demagogue

My book What Follows is True: Crescent Hotel chronicles the rise and fall of a notorious demagogue, Norman Baker who built a following through lies, conspiracy claims, simple answers to complex problems, and emotional appeals that encouraged people to trust him over facts and institutions. He divided the world into loyal supporters and enemies. His downfall came when journalists, experts, courts, public officials, and ordinary citizens worked together to expose falsehoods and hold him accountable. The lesson is simple: demagogues are defeated when people stay informed, defend independent institutions, reject misinformation, and act together to uphold truth and accountability.

FORT SMITH COMIC CON

FORT SMITH COMIC CON

If you're looking for something fun to do this weekend, I'll be at the Fort Smith Comic Con cc.org/selling and signing books throughout the event. The convention is at the Wyndham Hotel Fort Smith City Center and runs Friday through Sunday, June 5–7, and I'd love the opportunity to meet readers, talk about my work, and sign copies of my books.

Whether you're already a fan or just discovering my writing for the first time, stop by my table and say hello. I'll have books available for purchase, and I'm always happy to chat about stories, writing, comics, and all things pop culture. Comic conventions are a great chance to connect with fellow readers and creators, and I'm excited to be part of this year's event.

If you're in the Fort Smith area, I hope you'll make plans to attend. Be sure to stop by, browse the books, and introduce yourself. I look forward to seeing you there!

Signed books will be available all weekend at the Fort Smith Comic Con, June 5–7. If you haven't picked up a copy yet, stop by my table, say hello, and I'll be happy to sign your book.

I'll have copies of my graphic nonfiction title, What Follows Is True: Crescent Hotel, available for purchase and signing. Blending history, mystery, and the fascinating stories behind one of Arkansas's most famous landmarks, it's the perfect read for summer.

Whether you're attending the convention for comics, collectibles, or to meet creators, I'd love to see you there. Be sure to stop by and introduce yourself! If you can’t make it out it’s also available on my website HERE.
